The essential purpose of an aéro-club is to form pilots then, at the conclusion of their training, to put in their arrangement of the aircraft of training or journey.

You can spend your basic license (BB) in 15 years old and deprived aircraft pilot's license (PPL (A)) in 17 years old, what means that one can learn to pilot before 15 years old.

You should spend a medical examination at an approved doctor.

The training is made on training aircraft with qualified instructors. The aéro-club works all year long and you will fix yourself your meetings with the instructor. Your first flights will be made in double command and, on the initiative of your instructor, you will make your first flight only on board; it is what one calls "le lâché". You will pursue your perfection in double-command, while making the other flights "solo".

You should, at the same time, take a theoretical exam concerning the weather report, the rules, the flight mechanics, the aerodynamics, the navigation, etc.

When you will add up 4 hours of flight and 20 landings only on board and when you will have been received in the theoretical exam (valid two years), you will spend your deprived pilot's basic aircraft license (BB). This license gives right to fly only on board, in a 30 km beam around your aerodrome, on the type of plane which was of use to your training.

You can, immediately after the BB, continue your training to obtain deprived aircraft pilot's license (PPL (A)). For that purpose, it will be necessary to make navigations with an instructor, then solo..

Having made a success of the theoretical exam of the PPL(A), have added up 25 hours in double-command, having made 10 hours of "overseen solo " among whom mini 5 hours of navigation and realized a navigation of 150 Nm, you will spend your deprived aircraft pilot's license.

This license gives right to you, from its obtaining, to take passengers, without payment, on an the same class aircraft , on all the French territory.

Finally, the practice of the acrobatics, the gliders towing or the parachutists dropping require particular licenses.
